I always wonder about the morality of people who intentionally avoid paying the taxes dues in their jurisdiction. Do they also religiously not use the services those taxes pay for? One example is the roads people drive their RVs over.
I think it is fair and reasonable to pay for the services that are provided. To do otherwise is not honest or moral or....
Tax evasion or looking for a tax break? Most states are closing this loop as each legislative session closes. Amazon and others have so increased the mail order on line shopping that states are missing out on millions of tax dollars. So, in the future it won't much matter to the OP becuase they will charge the tax rate in the state the customer is ordering from or the rate the distribution center is located.
