yes, fake is not an ideal word to describe this, regardless of what a review site used.
"Counterfeit" would probably be a better word for it. It's a cheap knock-off imitation of the real product, deceptively labeled and packaged to look like the genuine article. .
does it have the brand name on it someplace? if not it is not counterfeit. If that review site can't do a better job of 'splaining' things, I wouldn't bother with it myself. seems like a site that prefers sensation to reality.
