Dash Cam

There have been a few discussion on here of dashcams. I bought one a while back specifically for my motorhome. I ended up putting it in my Jeep and keep it there most of time. Since my Jeep is my toad I transfer the camera over the motorhome when we take it. But after seeing what just happened to Venus Williams, I'm ordering two more dashcams and putting one in my wife's car and have a dedicated one each for the motorhome and the Jeep. They really are not that expensive.

If you didn't see what happened to Venus Williams, she was involved in a traffic accident where a passenger in the other car died. There were several witnesses who said the other car had a green light and Williams was in the intersection on a red. Williams statement was she entered the intersection on a green, but another vehicle going in the opposite direction turned left in front of her causing her to slow to a stop before proceeding, and before she was able to clear the intersection her light turned red and the other vehicle hit her broadside.

The police at first found Williams at fault. They didn't say if she was facing vehicular manslaughter charges or not. But she was getting sued and depending on her insurance coverage, she may have lost a lot of money out of pocket since she has a lot of money. But then a video from a security camera surfaced. A video that showed Williams did have a green light and in fact another car turned in front of her just like she said. The other vehicle that hit her did have a green, but Williams was still lawfully within the intersection, which means other vehicles have to yield to her. So the security camera video proved the other party was at fault. All her troubles could have been prevented with a dash cam. I'm sold.
