I prefer the 30 second loop, smaller video size means smaller memory card. By all means, nothing wrong with hours of video backup... you just have to fast forward through it all to get to the end, which is likely all you would ever want to see.
I have the record looping on my dashcam set to five minutes. The files are automatically saved with filenames made up of date and time which makes it easy to find clips when needed.
I get about 14 hours of video on a 32gbyte microSD card before it starts writing over the oldest clips.

yep, Mine records in segments, don't know the exact length, but If I need to locate a clip, don't need to fast forward thru the whole recording. just guess at location and go from there.

I guess that I could have been clearer in my post. What I was trying to say was that everything on your recording is open game for law enforcement if they find it in your car after an accident. And then comes the freedom of information requests.
We most newer cars and trucks basically have Black Boxes that also have information stored.
Way too many drivers that no matter what it is not their fault!!! If it shows I am at fault, then I should be willing to accept that!
It is not the drivers fault.
It is not the cameras fault
It is the...........asphalt! - rskrbinaExplorerI mounted mine on the windshield in front of the rear view mirror. Unless someone is looking REAL hard, you can' see it.
- et2ExplorerTimely post. I've been wanting one for each car and the MH. After hearing of the Ojocam 0801 I researched it pretty extensively today and in comparison to others. It's rated very well. There are two more improved models, the 0803 & 0805.
I ordered the 0803 off Amazon for $129 with the extra storage SD card. If it works well I will order the other two this spring. Possibly adding one to the rear window of the Jeep Cherokee.
Just a question on putting in your MH, are you people mounting it on the window or dash? If on the window where are you locating it? I'm thinking on the dash for the MH is more appropriate since it's already higher than most traffic and would get a better view of license plates vs higher up on the window

As someone else mentioned... make sure it has loop recording. I have a dash cam on my police car. It is constantly recording... but it only saves the last 30 seconds before you turn it on. That 30 seconds gives me plenty of time to hit the RECORD button and capture the previous 30 seconds and continue recording the present. That lets me capture information that I really wanted to capture without having hours and hours of nothing recorded in the off chance something happened that I wanted recorded.
OK I don't understand why this is preferable to a loop recording. with it my previous ?? hours are recorded. no need to hit record.

No disagreement at all. I prefer the 30 second loop, smaller video size means smaller memory card. By all means, nothing wrong with hours of video backup... you just have to fast forward through it all to get to the end, which is likely all you would ever want to see. - rhagfoExplorer III

Mine is not a big brand, but is small and discrete! Hides behind the rearview mirror. Takes great video and wide angle, clear video night and day.
I see it as my best friend, an unbiased witness if in an accident!
Wait till you hit someone from the rear or have too much to drink and try to sneak home and hit something. Then you won't really want to have one. We are depending on too many electronic things today and not using our eyes or brains.
The wife of a friend has had two accidents in her brand new 2015 auto with all the bells and whistles because she wasn't paying attention to her driving and depending on the warnings.
#1 Might happen, but not likely don't tailgate.
#2 Will not as one beer limit for normal driving, and NEVER when towing!
I feel it is my best friend, sorry you see it differently. - et2Explorer

Does it have a on/off switch? Could probably shut it off if unwanted video would be a possibility. Otherwise if your obeying traffic laws no problem. If your a road rage type of person, probably not the thing they would need or want.
