I just bought a new Samsung television I want to convert to DC. Does anyone know what size the barrel plug is on this thing? It's not 2.1 mm, or at least a 2.1 mm jack is too small to fit the port. ...

Not all wall warts are DC. There are some that are AC so make sure. There is no need to cut the plug off, you can make the measurement easily and there should be a diagram on the side of the wart which will tell you polarity plus if it is AC or DC
