Dell Laptop Problem
I have a Inspiron 3147. I updated the BIOS a couple weeks ago after the Dell Assistant kept recommending I install it. Ever since then, the laptop will not go into sleep or hibernate mode. Every time I close the lid, when I open the lid, I have to press the power button and then it reboots.
I have tried to refresh the BIOS version A09. The Dell website gives a date of Feb 2, 2016 but when I check the msinfo32 page, I see version A09, dated 11/13/2015. Is that problem?
Is this BIOS update a known problem for Dell Inspiron 3147's? What do you all recommend? Oh by the way, it just went out of warranty a month before I loaded the BIOS update. Other than the Sleep Hibernate issue, it works perfectly.
I have read about an option to reset the BIOS to the factory settings. Will that require reloading all the programs and data that I have on the laptop?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
