Direccttv Winegard satellite

I am having issues with signal loss 771, all 3 sats 101, 110, 119 are on target no wind but having signal issues and this has occurred in 3 different locations. It's a HD roof mount Winegard triple LNB with SWM. I have replaced the cable between SWM and receiver HR54-200. Any ideas?

  • Verify power going to dish. Do you hear it moving to search for sats?
  • What model # and how old is your Winegard. The Winegard box with SWM should be showing 99*, 101*, 103* You might have the original Trav'ler which was actually a 5 LNB setup (3 "eyes" but one of those contains 3 LNB's for 99, 101 and 103. To make it SWM you had to add the SWM8 kit (silver box with like 10-11 ports) and a PI29 power supply. That antenna would have been the SK-3005 and not the current SK-SWM3 which only have a single "eye" housing the 99, 101 and 103 LNB's.
Has this setup ever worked with the current receiver and what receiver are you using? Also be sure to go to a channel you know you should receive like FOOD at 231. You may be away from home and still trying to pick up local channels like 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, etc. which you cannot once you are out of range.
Let us know a bit more and let's see who can help.
  • I'm giving the Sat numbers off of the Wingard control box, when I got this receiver the Direct guy installed it for me and its been working great up until this trip for over 3 years. I have been in Mesquite, NV; Washington, UT and Now Ely, NV and it gets worse each time. I need to go up on the roof when I get a better ladder.
  • Ok, first off, shouldn't you be getting 99,101 and 103? That's what I get on the west with a portable Directv tripod dish, HD, SWM. I thought SWM meant just a single lnb.
