Direct TV

WOW! I was thinking of switching from Dish to Direct TV because I have a Kingdome and can only get one satallite at a time. Dish has 3.
But all I have to do to change my locals to my new location is to call this special RV number and WA La, I have my locals in less than 10 minutes. No fees and they were real friendly, no paperwork either.
For the person with the Kingdome, you have to have your receiver check your new switch each time you change from a stationary dish to an rv dish.
Anyhow, thanks, you guys helped me to make the decision to stay with dish. Also, they are much nicer, seems like after reading your comments.

I do get the local channels out of Los Angeles, but I am at my residence. My understanding is if I am somewhere else, lets say a thousand miles away I would have to pay an extra 15 dollars to get the local channels. I will just use the bat wings then to get the local channels. I am not going to pay for that service.

Actually, since your locals come from LA (which is not spot-beamed) you will get LA everywhere you travel in the US. This also works if your RV is registered in an area served by the NY locals.

If you don't move much just change your service address and get the locals at your location. Easy and FREE.

How much money per month did your bill go down when you did that? I don't mind having the locals when we're in one location for several months during the winter assuming I can get my service address changed so I can use them.

Well at least you got a tech to install the system on your coach. When I switched from Dish to Direct as soon as the tech arrived at my residence he told me right away that Direct does not work on installation on coaches. He said that they did not know anything about Kingdomes and refused to do anything. So I got on the phone and got Direct to just leave me the receiver/DVR and I had to install it myself. I have the same situation, but from what I've been told we're not supposed to have both.
