That said, if you want an RV account with DNS, then yes, you must have a separate account.

Get Direct TV for house. Make sure which antenna you have on your rig. It is most likely standard definition.
Order standard definition for house, then take that receiver with you on the road. Do not change location. We use the over the air antenna for local and the dish for most TV.

Us, too.

We take our receivers with us when we camp and as long as we are in a 100 mile radius of our house, we get locals and everything on the satellite. If we are further (we live in the mountains), we use the batwing to get the locals and the Directv for satellite channels, such as HGTV, DIY, History, etc.

We don't tell them and we have done this for at least 8 years.

Same here, been using receivers from my house for years...no big deal...

I have done that as well a few years back. I was up front about it with DIRECTV and was never told me I couldn't do it... Sometimes my older SAT RCVRS would lose their settings when I unpluged them from 120VAC. So when we get setup again I have to call Directv and have them reset it for me. I have also logged into DIRECTV online and reset it my myself.

The big thing is to have your account info with you and which SAT RCVR location in your house you are talking about...

Worked great for us getting Standard SAT TV in our RV Trailer travels.

When NATIONAL BROADCAST went to digital HDTV signals from the local towns I just stopped bringing along the SAT STUFF...

I've got Directv with the wireless Genies at home and I take them with me on trips in the RV. Works great.

The way around it is the less said to directv the better. Take the box from the house for sat tv and use your roof antenna to watch local tv.

if you are out of the spotbeam area for home service locals from directv to another spotbeam for locals in your new location, directv is less friendly.
Dish permits you to take your home reciever anywhere and change your spotbeam for local channels easily. Your home reciever can travel with you anywhere,
Research your options, decide whats right for you.

To the OP: Why did DirecTV tell you that you'd receive TWO bills. What exactly did you ask for? That seems to be the key here. Finally, what are you trying to do? If you have DTV in your home, Standard Def, then you can simply take the box into your RV and hook it up. When you return, reverse the procedure. Now if you're trying to get DNS, such as a west coast or east coast feed then FCC regulations apply and it gets complicated. Like most things, what you get will depend a lot on what questions you ask when inquiring....Dennis
