We been fulltime for 9 years and have DTV. No high def, we have the samereceivers we had then. We've just been on the phone with DTV for HOURS trying to upgrade one receiver to the DVD Receiver. First they wouldn't send a tech, then when he put in the order the computer said we could have a tech bring it. When the Tech called he was near our billing address hundreds of miles away. We had given our current address to the guy when we ordered, but that didn't help. So we called back and tried again, so they changed our service address and that cut off the locals from Portland. We should have gotten the Spokane ones with the new service address but she couldn't get them to work so she changed it back to our old address. We finally talked to a supervisor who said they would not even send a new receiver to an RV. They don't service RV's at all. Talked to at least 9 different people and they all have a different story. Different prices too. We are soooo fed up with Direct TV. Does anyone have a special number for DTV that will get us to the people who understand about fulltime RVers??

Try the Wineguard site, they'll get new receivers to you. With Direct, don't talk to the first person, just tell them you are angry & you need a supervisor in their MOBILE section. Then tell the next person you want their supervisor because you are going to yell at someone, the will probably get you someone who knows about mobile accounts. Be firm but persistent with them. We figured they would know we're in an RV cause we pay extra for the NY and LA networks. We r staying with SD because we're using the old dome on the roof

It's amazing what they don't know. After almost 10 years of getting DNS, they decided I couldn't have that any more because one of my receivers is in a house. And I know darn well they can beam DNS to just the RV receiver. If that's their policy, fine, but they seem to be rather selective on what they enforce, and when.

If you're staying with SD, you may have better luck finding a separate recording device on your own. I did that in 2005, but, that may not work anymore.

We called back and started with someone else. She changed our service address and is supposedly shiping to us here. We lost the Portland channels with the add change and for some reason are not getting the Spokane ones that should cover this area. Decided we'd wait til the dvr comes to worry about the locals
