Directv 771 signal problem - help

op back. Nothing, same message, searching for signal, even though all the sats show *. I called the local mobile tech, he doesn't sat/electronics work, but he referred my to a local "mom pop" electronic shop. I talked to them yesterday, explained the problem, he will come out next week (I have company this week). Until then, cg cable fills the void. I'll post back next week after the tech comes out.

thanks everyone, even tho no solutions you guys have explained terms and such, I have a little better understanding. And, it helped me describe the problem to the tech.
