I'm baaack - OP here, finally. The tv/sat service tec came out yesterday to diagnose and fix my "no signal - 771" problem. First, he looked at my electronic cabinet - packed extremely tight with very sloppy wiring. He decided the first thing he would do is connect his coax to the roof dish - and to his receiver. OK, he got a signal, so that eliminated a problem with the lnb. We pulled out the electronics, boy that was tough, and he disconnected the coax cable. There was a spare coax (not sure who or why - but glad it was there), hooked up the spare - and bingo - all is well. The tec, Marty was great, very patient, took his time to figure out the problem, fixed it. It wasn't complicated, but the cabinet housing all the electronics sure made it difficult.
