All three of my DVRs are HR24. So is the one in my dads motorhome. We have had Directv since the first year they started. We have ALWAYS been able to watch prerecorded programming when not attached to a dish, that is up until our last RV trip a week ago. I can assure you that this is a repeatable problem and I sure don't see a correlation between DRM and this issue. We pay for a service to download and store content that we can watch at a later time. When we don't have a connection it is only when we have parked behind a tree or there is a storm that prevents us from putting up our dish. Frankly I think this "feature" was unintentional in that I can see no up side to this. Directv has tens of thousands of RV users if not hundreds of thousands. Unless you read this forum and understand the issue, most RVers will report a resetting DVR which will result in Directv sending out replacement DVRs which will not solve the problem. Directv is a business, make no mistake that they will do what costs less and have less service calls or calls to their service
center. We need to be asking for this "feature" to be removed or to be able to turn it off in the menu. If someone has figured that out I would sure like to heard about it. I live in Oregon and we have lots of trees and many times you just can't get a signal.
