I just spoke about this issue to my next door neighbor here at my home base. He is a field supervisor for DTV and has been for many years. He has not heard of this six minute reboot issue. All of his installers use expensive meters and they don't even turn on the receiver on until the dish is set so they don't ever see this issue.
I talked with DirecTV earlier today after my test reported above. I was assured my problem was my Power Inserter. My comment was if that is the problem then send me a new one. I'm sure I will be calling them back as soon as the new Power Inserter doesn't solve the problem. Since I'm retired and have plenty of time to waste, I might as well waste it driving DTV crazy with this stupid issue.
