Once I did the test correct it rebooted from the signal strength screen in six minutes just exactly like before the PI change. Obviously the PI was not the problem. Now for another phone call. Isn't this fun.

I just got off the phone to the gal working this problem at Directv. They reproduced the problem in the lab last night. They are very concerned about this problem and the way it is being handled at the customer service level. She assured me we should be able to watch the playlist without a sat signal and that the problem we are experiencing is not a conspiracy but just a mistake in the software. She also stated that I would be getting a call from the VP sometime today to dissuse the problem.
Hang in there, a fix is coming.
