Directv DVR continuously resetting when no signal from sat

I think I finally found a way to get Directv's attention regarding this situation: Problem: You can no longer watch prerecorded programs stored on your DVR when you can't get a signal from the sat...

WE have been watching prerecorded programs on our DVR for the last two years, and today, thanks to Bill and 2oldman, we finally have the dish working. So at least for us, this is a new thing.
