Directv DVR continuously resetting when no signal from sat

Wow! What a great thread. I usually glaze over and lose interest after a page or two but this has been outstanding. Thank you to everybody who contributed. I am having this same problem and am looking forward to the fix whenever it comes. I never thought it was possible to get anything intelligent out of DirecTV. You guys had the persistence to find the right people at DirecTV and get their attention. Thanks, again.
