I doubt if the power saving mode will stop the hard drive. I have power saving enabled on my home DVR and it still records scheduled shows even when power saving is show as being in effect.
I wouldn't mind replacing the hard drive. What I do mind is having to reprogram all the recordings. Is that stored on the hard drive? Can I copy all my recording shows, not the shows but when to record, onto a thumb drive or something so I don't have to schedule everything again.
