Directv DVR continuously resetting when no signal from sat

I think I finally found a way to get Directv's attention regarding this situation: Problem: You can no longer watch prerecorded programs stored on your DVR when you can't get a signal from the sat...

Something else I discovered on my latest camping trip: The DVR not only needs a signal, it needs the guide to be successfully downloaded.

After aiming the dish I saw that the guide was being downloaded. But it wasn't the usual screen - and I got a message "Searching for signal on.....771 " . I verified the 99, 101 and 103 were all good and I started watching a recorded show. About 10 minutes later.. boom.. reboot.

The guide loaded properly this time.
