Directv DVR continuously resetting when no signal from sat

I think I finally found a way to get Directv's attention regarding this situation: Problem: You can no longer watch prerecorded programs stored on your DVR when you can't get a signal from the sat...

My HR24 got new software yesterday. With the dish pointed at the ground and power on of the HR24 it's now been playing a recorded show for 30 minutes.
