Directv DVR continuously resetting when no signal from sat

I think I finally found a way to get Directv's attention regarding this situation: Problem: You can no longer watch prerecorded programs stored on your DVR when you can't get a signal from the sat...

I have another related problem with no service and using recordings. I have the updated software. I can watch shows that have been recorded on satellite channels. Shows that were recorded OTA via the OTA tuner, will not play without having the receiver active. I keep getting 775 for OTA recordings the then says receiver not active, bla bla bla. Strange.
