Our justification for the HR44 was:
1. Eliminate the occasions limit of recording 2 channels message at home and in the rig.
2. Allow more channel recording when the rig is parked for those times when there is no sat access.
3. The rig has a SWM dish.
Plus Bills suggestion to record more free prime or holiday channels for later viewing.
I'd bet that my SIL would have 2 HR44s and record every sports game available. Ohhhh I forgot he works so don't know when he'd watch them...
