Lots of people take their DirecTV receivers with them in their RVs and the Trav'ler SWM will be compatible with pretty much anything you could possibly have at home.
If your home system is SWM then all you have to do is make sure the antenna type is properly set in the Satellite Setup menu but you may well have a SWM3 at home so no change would be necessary. If your house is an older style multiswitch setup you will need to change the receiver setting from multiswitch from SWM as well as setting the antenna type.
Of course, if you have a Genie (either HR34 or HR44) in your home you will need to take the Genie itself, and not one of its C41 clients since the clients aren't full receivers and only work in association with the Genie.
