I was on the phone over 1 hour and finally talked to a retention dept supv. She would do nothing for the 2 discounts that had been removed and even told me the only $15 discount remaining on the account expires next month and won't be renewed.
She told me as all the old discounts are expiring they are not replacing them. In other words raising your bill without technically raising the package price. They try to tell the people that the price is not going up that just some of the extra discounts you got won't be there.
I asked her if there are customers stupid enough to buy that line of BS.
I am going to cancel next month before the last discount expires.
From what I'm read on the Satellite TV forums, Directv is starting to play hardball with discounts. They may have put a 'Red Flag' on your account saying no more discounts.
