I read this post a couple of time and I am not sure how you can tell the size of the tripod the OP has.
Having helps others setup Dish and Direct antennas even the two sat Dish antenna uses the smaller diameter pipe. He said he was switching from Dish to Direct and by using the 18 x 20 dish he would not have to buy another tripod. Just trying to save him some money plus the small dish/tripod is easier to store.
