First a bit of advice: IF you do not already have a DirecTV account, set up an RV account, do not bother telling Direc you will be using it at home.. Works better that way as you qualify for Distant Network Service (LA or NYC network stations no matter where you are parked).
If you had read the OP's post you would have seen that he already has a DirecTV account so this is useless advice.
Now: to your question: Yes, you need to run through the menu every set up. However once you have done it 2 or 3 times it will become automatic and you it only takes a mintute or so.
As the OP has already been told; he doesn't need to do the setup if his home has the SWM3 LNB pictured by Bill. Your advice is incorrect.
if the Traveler is a dome... It will not get DirecHDTV by the way. NOT all DirecTV receivers have "Round Dish" as an option, Travler is a "Round Dish" in DTV terms.
This is totally incorrect; the Trav'ler is not a dome and it is not a Round Dish. The new Trav'lers use the SWM3 selection on the menu and they do very much get HD reception.
Yeah, I noticed that.
And I checked my LNB and it has the green label as Bill mentioned so I'll be good to go!
Thanks for everyone's help!
