Be sure to have all of your account information with you. Seems like everytime I disconnect my SAT RCVR at home it loses its settings and when I setup when camping I have to get it activated again. You can do this on-line and not bother with folks at DIRECTV.
I pasted my ACCOUNT INFO and telephone number etc on my SAT RCVR so I would always have the account info with me...
Also be sure to check out yout OTA BATWING setup so you can use that as well on your trip. We get better HDTV over the air from the local towns for the NATL BROADCAST station. We always lose our SAT LOCAL STATIONS when we leave our ZIP CODE area.
I run two RG cables from the two port dish into the trailer and connect one to a SAT RCVR in the living room and the second RG cable to another SAT RCVR in the bedroom (I bring two SAT RCVRS with mefrom the house). Then I use the VIDEO OUTPUTS of these two SAT RCVR to feed VID 1 channels on both trailer TV sets. This way we can easily select either SAT TV or the CAMP GROUND CABLE or the OTA local towns with the remote control unit.
Worked great for us when we was doing this a few years back.
Now days we just just either use camp ground cable hookup or OTA from the local towns to get our TV FILL...
There are a few SAT TV channels we miss and if we really want to watch them we can downstream a couple of them over the internet.
