I have a Garmin 2597LM and I agree that at times it is not very accurate. I own property that the GPS tells me is one mile from its actual location. I attribute that to the fact that it is a very isolated area and there are no street addresses between where the GPS says my property is and its actual location.
We live one a dead end road that was our private driveway, When we had it paved and turned it over to the township as a town road, it took over ten years for it to be listed on Garmin. It was shown on Google maps within 6 months
We were in Asheville, NC trying to find a WalMart and the GPS actually took us all the way around the store to get there. If we would have gone 1 mile down the street we started on, we would have driven to the side of the building.
