Might ALL gps devices be getting their data from the same source?
And the source be to blame for the inaccuracies?
from garmins website.
Garmin's map data is provided by an outside vendor. All map information, including addresses, businesses, speed limits, and trucking data, is gathered through a number of different agencies including local governments, principalities, etc. There may be an occasion where something is not reported correctly or wasn't able to be changed in time for the new version of mapping to be released.
We have provided an Error Report Form on our website that allows you to submit any findings regarding missing or incomplete locations or streets in the map.
The information will be sent to our cartography department and to the mapping vendor. This helps us provide our customers with the most accurate mapping possible.
so how many reports does it take to trigger a update? corrections may not be a big priority.
