Well, I have come full circle. I bypassed the 1x2 HDMI switch and the problem continued. That is when it dawned on me that I was overlooking a piece of my setup. Videos on the HT played fine but not satellite as it does not originate on the HT. For the sat, I use Digital In on the HT. That means sound comes from the TV via Fiber optic digital cable. While watching sat. I found that if I switch to the TV speakers it is not dropping sound. Now I have to figure out if it is a loose connection at the devices, which can be resolved by reseating or if the fiber is broken. The good news, for us, is that we can watch sat. and listen to the TV speakers.
