Why does DISH have both. As a full time RVer I have been using a DISH 500 and a 211K with DNS. When out East with it abundance of trees it would seem the Eastern Arc would make more sense but when going back out West will the EA still work ? Does the 211K work with both EA and WA antennas
I have a 1000.4 dish with both the Western Arc (sats 110, 119, and 129) and Eastern Arc (sats 61.5, 72, and 77) arms so I can switch between them.
DISH no longer sells the 1000.4 but it can be bought from eBay and other retailers.
However, the 1000.2 dish also has Western and Eastern arc arms and this dish is available many places.
I use this manual to determine which arc to use: 1000.4 install guide or www.dishpointer.com and see which arc has the highest elevation (plus a clear view).
Sometimes you have the option of using both arcs.
Another benefit of having both arcs . . . local stations . . . some DISH locals have their SD (Standard Definition) channels on one arc, and their HD channels on another.
