With the DTV spot beam maps we have a good idea when we'll need to switch the service address. And with our DVR we can record, skip unwanted portions of a show and time shift. Plus as we move the receiver from home to rig our recorded shows go with us.
With the OTA locals scanned into the Dish receiver, they are listed on the program guide, and available to the DVR. On the VIP211k with an optional external hard drive for DVR, you can even record an OTA program while watching a satellite program, or vice versa.
