I don't have DISH. I have DIRECTV...and their website has a page about aiming the dish by zip code. I've used it....just research the zip(s) you're going to be in and print them out. Maybe DISH has the same thing.
My former DIRECTV box had a built-in page on the "set-up" portion of it where all I had to do was punch in the zip I was in...and the aiming info would be right there. Not so much with my new box.
The cost of converting to DIRECTV should not cost you hundreds of dollars. But again, that all depends on what you want. A tripod, dish compass and strength meter should cost maybe 100 bucks...and the box...presumabaly you would have DirecTV in your house,simply unplug it and put it in your RV. Of course if you want a roof-top computerized antenna...and HD and various packages...THAT will cost hundreds if not a thousand or more.
