What is this 'Dish authorizes your receiver' all about?
I got the VIP211k/Tailgater and Pay-as-you-go with the express understanding that I was 'authorized' to move about the planet and watch TV. What is the source of this 'authority' and why don't I have it? If Dish lied, I would be happy to call them.
Re: the receiver cannot communicate, I don't understand what is happening when I watch 'The Weather Channel' and I am prompted to press select to download local weather. The screen says downloading! Is this info already present on the receiver or is it downloaded on command? How does PPV work if no communication goes back to Dish?
Something does indeed communicate back.
What I do if going to a remote location without phone service; call while travelling?
