While the spot beam maps are fun to look at, with DISH your current ZIP code determines what TV locals you receive.
My receiver thinks my zip code is 00000. I am watching local TV without calling and giving my location beforehand. I am at 78570 per the Post Office.
Good luck with that.
For the rest of you DISH users, just call DISH and give them your current campground address (& ZIP code) to reset your local TV channels.
Exactly! I use the CS chat system to change our service address as needed when we're moving out of a spot beam's coverage, although not necessarily for every actual move. For instance, we're currently at a campground about midway between Naples and Miami, FL on the Tamiami Trail, but I deliberately left our service address set to our previous location on Pine Island near Ft Meyers, as we're still within that beam's coverage. Since the weather typically comes in from the west, I wanted their weather forecasts instead of Miami's. To cover all the bases though, we get the Miami stations on the OTA antenna, so we can keep track of that end as well. Our next move will be north to Clermont, and I will change the address again then, and we'll get the Orlando area locals.
