Dish Network - No Network feeds after 2/25/2014

This signal is sent only once and only when the Dish rep. gets your request. If your receiver is off-line at this time it's most likely that the change will not happen unless you get yourself online and call again.

Can you expand more on how this works and is DTV similar? Is there a dedicated frequency/channel that receivers monitor for changes? What happens when a subscription is stopped? Does the sat company send the signal on a periodic basis to turn off the channel viewing or?
