Dish Network Switched to 8PSK / Need King #1844 Tool

A lot of good info here, but it brings up a few questions if someone has the time. we have a Hopper at home with a(looks like) a USB port in the from. Can I hookup a external drive to that, record some shows, then play back on a 211k. thanks in advance.
