DISH Network Tailgater Question

New to the forum. That's for taking the time to answer my question.

I was wondering if anyone knew if there were restrictions on HOW MANY dish tailgater satellite/receiver combos I could add to my account.

The technology is a good fit for me, but I need to be able to tune two different TVs on occasion, so I'd need two setups. I'd be switching over to DISH, so before I make that leap, I wanted to check to see if anyone ever had issue with connecting multiple tailgater setups to a single account.

Thanks,

Mel
  • If you have Dish as your residential sat provider, and have some combination of Hoppers and Joeys on your account, Dish will only allow one VIP211 series receiver/Tailgater on that account. You can of course set up a separate account for the receivers used with multiple Tailgaters, at a much higher cost.
  • I doubt there is any limit to number of accounts you can have as each account is defined by your individual Dish receivers. HOWEVER, Dish customer support is easily confused by the RV and Tailgater accounts. I recommend you use a separate charge card, separate address, and a separate telephone number when you create two accounts. Dish has mixed up my home Dish account with my RV no contract account in the past, thus my suggestions.
  • You are free to install as many dish tailgater satellite antennas to as many compatable receivers you have on your account. You pay a monthly fee for the use of the receivers, Dish does not care how many tailgaters you are using as long as they are connected to paying receivers.
