On our current Florida visit, between the trip down from up north and moving from park to park every week or two, I'm running at almost 50-50 on using both arcs. I make my choice based on a good viewing window first of course, and then the better location for the dish. At our current location for example, I could "see" either arc ok, but using the western arc let me put the dish in a more convenient location with a shorter cable run. And as said, which arc has the locals in HD can also play into the decision. At one campground in VA, the only choice for locals was the western arc.
