Dish receiver question with portable winegard 1518

No dual tuner receiver is going to work well with the Dish service and a dome type unit (roof or portable). The dome contains only 1 LNB and the Dish service comes from 3 satellites so unless the programming is coming from the same satellite the 2nd tuner will fail. Additionally, only the primary tuner can cause the antenna to move so if the secondary tuner needs different programming it cannot move the antenna.

I'm using a Winegard Anser with my 625 dvr without any problems, fwiw.

I use the Winegard Carryout without any issues.

I have not heard that you could only use a 612 and don't think that is true.

That said, I do currently have a 612 and it does freeze up regularly.
