I don't live too far from King Controls, the manufacturer and went there recently for some parts for mine. One of the motors went bad. They had a bunch of them on the floor with custom paint jobs. Camo, Green Bay Packers, Vikings, you name it. I don't see how a thin coat of paint would affect the reception, apparently they didn't either.
