Just to confirm what Pack said, it's usually obvious which way north is, but it often isn't obvious just where the satellites are hiding. In fact they are spread out in an array to the SE of those of us on the west coast, and they have a knack for hiding behind trees.
Bottom line, I'm often surprised to find where I CAN get reception, and where I can't.
