That company, King Controls, also makes the VuCube FLEX which permits 2 receiver connection + besides the Western Arc sats (110, 119, 129), the FLEX can also get Eastern Arc sat 61.5.

I read an ealy report here from a Tailgater owner who tried a Pathway and found it didn't pull in difficult reception as well as his Tailgater, which surprises me. Since that's the only report I've read, I mentioned it. But again it's early and I think the Pathway's gonna work out just fine.

Use the Tailgator/211k in the TT and in the summer at our cabin in TN. Much easier and quicker than the dish on the tripod. Cabin has a fixed dish mounted on the roof but trees block the reception in the summer. Secure the tailgaator to the dish on the roof and it locks in on the satellites when the fixed dish cannot. Works for me.

What's the negative comments on the Pathway? A larger dish and connecting to either east or west satellites makes real good sense to me.

I am unaware of ANY negative comments regarding the Tailgater (apart from the previous poster's), let alone "half". I own one and it performs quite well. The Pathway is interesting but "too new to rate", IMO.

BTW, I HAVE read negative comments about the Pathway, but again, it's early.

I think the Pathfinder X2 is a better buy.

You will not be able to use the 722 with a Tailgater. The Tailgater (and the Pathway X2) use special software written by Dish and is only available in the 211K, 211Z and 411 receivers.

I noticed that too in Amazon reviews, although it wasn't anywhere close to 50/50 there. More like 10% with problems related to the mechanism itself. But there were enough of those to convince me to get a tripod and 1000.2 manually aimed antenna instead. Didn't want to take the chance of being out in the middle of nowhere when the aiming mechanism decides to go on permanent vacation. Besides, aiming the dish is a trivial matter after you do it a few times, and I rather enjoy that kind of thing anyway. No moving parts equals lower probability of trouble. And it's a lot cheaper to boot.

The VIP 722 has a built in DVR and most importantly will not work with the Tailgater. As far as I know you must have the 211 to use with the Tailgater. As usual I could be wrong :^0
