Dish TV

Hello, my wife and I are newbee RV'ers I was wondering what type of Dish Satellite to buy ? We have a Coachmen Atlas 5th wheel .
Thank you. tbirdt
  • I doubt you can afford an actual satellite, but I would second the recommendation for the Winegard Pathway X2 antenna and a Dish For My RV (Outdoor) account. If you're not a full-timer, you can deactivate and reactivate the account when you're not using the RV. We have the Pathway X2, a Wally receiver and an outdoor account and the setup works very well for us. You can even put a hard drive on the Wally and use it as a single-tuner DVR.

  • I have a dish tailgater but have dish service at home. If you already have dish service it costs 6 or 7$/month with no contract, no brainer if you already have the service. We use this in conjunction with WI-FI from our phones to the smart tv to stream Netflix, etc.
  • We have the Winegard Trav'ler with Dish on our FW and really enjoy having it.
  • I agree. If you are a new RVer delay the satellite TV decision for a while.
  • Thank you. I do have Firestick and Amazon Prime. Thanks again
  • Get a Winegard Pathway X2 carryout auto week dome and a Wally sat box from Best Buy.

Then call DISH and buy month to month no contract if you just use it in the RV or sign up your house.

If you depend on cell for streaming bring a lot of books.
  • A lot of folks are moving away from the dish/sat tv systems. Streaming has become more and more popular. If you have netflix or Amazon Prime available at home, you can use them also on the road, anywhere you can get a good enough cell signal.
How well it will work for you depends on where you tend to travel.
