I was told by the DN sales rep that the Hopper can't be used with any other receivers. That you have to use a Joey for additional TVs. I would want a Hopper and an additional HD receiver or a HD DV...

As TechWriter said, two Hoppers would give you the redundancy you want. If you have an RV, you can have a VIP211k/z on the same account as your Hopper, but I believe you would have to purchase it separately rather than getting it as part of a contract deal.
