- jeffoExplorerI have a 3ft length of cable and then screw two screw-in dog brackets in the ground close enough to attach a paddle lock thru the handles and the cable. You can not pull them out of the ground when they are locked together. Might slow them down a little.
- JunketExplorerI mounted a plate on a flag pole for mine and the pole to the ladder
Ken - photobugExplorerit's a winegard g2+ it will come off and you can put it on a stand if you are under the trees. I've just got it bolted to the roof

Sounds pretty secure however I don't think it qualifies as a portable. - CasiExplorerThanks everyone for all the great ideas! I appreciate your help.
- photobugExplorerdepends on if the thieves have tools. Mine's mounted on the roof, and you have to unbolt it to remove, plus climb up on the roof. I suppose if I needed, I could run a bike lock through the roof rack.

I finally ordered a King Tailgater for my living quarters horse trailer. I was wondering what precautions I should take, or if there are any?
I keep ours chained to the Landing Gear on our 5th Wheel with a Chain and a Padlock.
You may never have a Problem. It just helps keep honest People honest. - hotpepperkidExplorerIn the 40 years I have been camping the only thing that has disappeared is beer from the cooler. I don't even bother to lock the side bends as most every in the camp ground has a key
- LantleyNomadI never worry about it. There is really no black market for a stolen tailgater.
I worry more about someone stealing entire RV or truck than the tailgater
