We have one and like it. The height and length feature is nice but its imperfect. Is it better than a GPS without it? Yes, definetely. But, when you get into more rural areas it tends to be more of a guideline than a factual route. Its really an issue of mapping data I think. Not enough of it exists to make that functionality perfect.
RV GPS Review- Decent write up about all the RV GPS options. They like the 7720 and the DEZL 760 as the top of the line options.
I think most people vote for one or the other in most of the threads I have seen.
Since you actually own the Rand McNally unit I have a question. I have read several reviews and the biggest complaint that I have read so far is that the screen is hard to see in the daylight. This is the case even with the shade that you can buy for it. Is it hard to see in the daylight?
I currently have the Garmin 465T which is the truck unit they had available at the time. It has features that I don't need like weigh station notices but it serves its purpose for now. From what I have read the new Garmin DEZL 760 has an RV mode as well as a truck/car mode. I am thinking about a new unit but I am currently torn between the Rand McNally unit and the Garmin unit. TIA
