Does a Large Capacity Hard Drive Make a Computer Run Slower

Out of curiosity, I've been looking at new laptops lately. I've noticed that many come with 1TB drives, either HDD or SSD. My current laptop's HDD is half of that capacity and does fine for my purpos...

Absolutely stopping a program under Windows frees up RAM. I often do it on my work WIN 7 PC because they will not give us more than 8 gig and I hover between 6 & 7. Rebooting of course fixes this, but if I am in the middle of something I'll kill off things to free up RAM to decrease swapping so I can finish what I'm doing. Too much crappy software out there forgetting to free resources they are finished with.
