All signals are analog when they hit the antenna. The difference is how the signal is processed and interpreted by the TV.
That is incorrect. All signals are UHF and VHF just as they always have been but in the past we broadcast analog signals on UHF and VHF and now we broadcast digital on UHF and VHF (along with a bit of analog).
The antenna on your RV receives UHF and VHF so the analog / digital "thing" did not change this. However, now, 70-80% of all programming is on the UHF frequencies so having an antenna optimized for UHF will certainly help. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule. I am currently in Las Vegas where NBC channel 3 is broadcast on VHF channel 2. If you don't have a big antenna like the Winegard Batwing you are not going to have any luck pulling in this channel.
