MSVIEW is a Microsoft Windows application for interfacing with certain Morningstar charge controllers.
I have emailed Morningstar support and they also suggest drivers. I've confirmed my Tristar is on the latest firmware and MSVIEW is the latest release. The last step is the drivers on the RS232 USB adapter. That wouldn't explain the crashes across various computers, but at least it something else to check.
